Sri Lanka is the land of romance and mystery. Lovely beaches, lush greenery and the incredible wildlife have given it a magical power of making people fall in love. The Romantic getaway is for lovers, honeymooners and couples.
Your guide will welcome you at the airport and take you to your beach side hotel in Negombo, just 30 minutes away from the airport. You may simply relax and enjoy the romantic setting of the picturesque beach area.
There is a possibility to arrange a couple massage, which will take away all the tiredness of your long flight.
In Negombo you wake to the soothing sound of the ocean. Once you are ready, your driver will take you to your next destination, Kandy. En route to Kandy you may stop by the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to see the playful elephants. If you reach Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage between 10.00 am to 12.00 pm or 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm, you will be able to witness these giants enjoying their daily baths.
The evening will be left unscheduled, allowing you two to enjoy each other’s company. Alternately, you may go out for a traditional Kandyan Dance performance or visit the Temple of the Tooth.
After breakfast, your driver will take you to the Peradeniya Botanical garden which is one of the best ways of starting a delightful day. Walk through the footpaths covered with lovely flowers and exotic plants. Sit down under the shades of bamboo trees and have some time together. It will feel like magic.
After the peaceful morning at Peradeniya Royal Botanical garden, you will have an opportunity to visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth. If you like, you may perfectly blend in with the local devotees. To blend with the local devotees, you can shop in the market and dress in traditional Sri Lankan dress, colourful silk saree or batik sarong. Don’t forget to get some water lilies as offerings to the Lord Buddha and then join with the locals. It will be a very unique experience.
On the fourth day of your tour, your driver will take you to Nuwara Eliya, which is known locally as the most romantic city of Sri Lanka.
On your way to Nuwara Eliya, we can set a small adventure for you. How about a rafting tour in the picturesque Kelaniya River? You will be well equipped with a safety gear and a comprehensive training for this great adventure. Alternatively, you may visit breathtaking Ramboda waterfall.
Once you reach Nuwara Eliya, you may visit a tea factory to explore the production process of world famous Ceylon tea. In the evening, there will be a small tea party arranged just for you.
It’s a shame if you couldn’t visit Horton Plains, while you are in Sri Lanka. Horton Plains is a gorgeous national park located in the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka. The colourful wild flowers, magnificent waterfalls, stunningly beautiful valleys will not let you hurry your tour. It is advisable to leave the hotel early in the morning as Horton Plains is normally very misty in the noon, which can disturb the incredible vistas.
Evening will be left unscheduled, leaving plenty of time for yourselves. If you wish, it is possible to arrange a city tour to explore the life of Hill country.
The train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella is renowned for its scenic vistas. On day six your tour will head towards Yala. In the morning, your driver will take you to Nanu Oya railway station. After assisting you on to the train, he will drive to Ella railway station to meet you at the end of your train ride. This excursion takes you through beautiful country with tea plantations and green valleys to your next destination.
On your way to Yala you may stop by picturesque Ravana waterfall and Buduruwagala temple, where you will find the tallest standing statue of Lord Buddha in Sri Lanka.
Take some rest in the evening to get ready for the early morning jeep safari in Yala national park.
Is there any better way of starting a day than listening to the music of birds and gazing at the fascinating wildlife? This is exactly what you are going to experience in the morning of day 7 with your beloved.
You will reach Yala national park when first daylight filters through the tree tops. You will be welcomed by the songs of birds and the chatter of monkeys. Keep your eyes peeled, so you won’t miss any of the deer, crocodiles, boars, elephants, buffalos and flocks of birds. You might also see the stubborn bears and mighty leopards, during your jeep safari.
After the jeep safari, your driver will take you to Bentota for the seaside portion of your holiday. En route to Bentota, you will be able to stop by Dondra Lighthouse to enjoy the magnificent view from the top of the lighthouse and Galle Fort for a nice evening walk.
Bentota is one of the most beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka. It is a fantastic place for water sports such as diving, jet skiing, sailing and many more. However, none of these are necessary in order for you to enjoy the beach. Just walking with your beloved along the golden sandy beach will be enough.
On either day, you may enjoy a boat ride in Madu River. The river is famous for its mangroves and for colourful birds. You may visit Koth Doowa Rajamaha Viharaya, which is a Buddhist temple located in one of the islands of the river. Also, you will be able to visit a Cinnamon Island (an island where locals grow and process cinnamon) during your boat ride.
After the boat ride your driver will take you to a turtle hatchery, which helps the conservation of endangered sea turtles.

Day 10 is the last day of your great escape. Your driver will take you to the airport to catch your return flight. You will fly back to your home country with some great memories.
