Your guide will welcome you at the airport. He will take you to your first destination, Negombo. You may simply relax at your beach side hotel and recover from the long flight. If you like, you may visit the dynamic Negombo fish market and the fishing village.
After breakfast your driver will take you to Dambulla. En route to Dambulla, you will be able to visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can observe cheerful elephants bathing in the MahaOyariver.
In the evening, you can visit a UNESCO listed world heritage site, the Dambulla cave temple. It is the largest and the best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.
On the third day, you will be exploring the first kingdom of Sri Lankans, Anuradhapura, which is also a UNESCO listed world heritage site. During your tour of this ancient city, you will see the Sacred Bo Tree (Sri MahaBodhiya), Ruwanweliseya, the Samadhi statue, the Brazen Palace and many other historical and sacred monuments.
After visiting Anuradhapura, your driver will take you to Mihintale, where King Devanampiya Tissa became a devotee of Lord Buddha. This event is considered to have been the beginning of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
In the morning of day 4, you will visit the world famous, UNESCO listed world heritage site, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The Fortress was built by King Kashyapa and is considered an architectural miracle. The Sigirya Rock Fortress is known for its frescos, water gardens and especially for the massive rock entrance that is shaped into a lion’s paws.
Your lunch will be prepared at a house of a villager. You will have the unique experience of taking a bullock cart ride and a catamaran ride to reach this remote location. Wear comfortable and durable clothing.
In the evening enjoy a relaxing Ayurvedic massage.
After breakfast at your hotel, your driver will take you to Kandy, which is yet again a UNESCO listed world heritage site. Once you reach Kandy, you may visit the famous Temple of the Tooth, where the tooth relic of Lord Buddha is believed to be kept.
In the evening, you will be entertained with a traditional performance of Kandyan dance.
In the morning, your guide will take you out for a city tour in Kandy. You can explore the local market and the busy city life. The local shops offer traditional batik sarongs and silk sarees, among many other items of interest.
After the city tour comes a refreshing time in the Peradeniya botanical garden, the biggest botanical garden in Sri Lanka. Peradeniya is known for its comprehensive Orchid collection and for the giant Java fig tree. Not only that, the garden boasts 4000 different species of beautiful and exotic plants.
Your next destination is NuwaraEliya, after the Peradeniya botanical garden. On your way to NuwaraEliya, your driver can take you to visit the Ramboda waterfall and a tea factory to witness the process of making our world famous Ceylon tea.
Start the day with a glance at the life of tea plantation workers. Your guide will escort you on a tour of the tea plantation to show how the tea is grown and harvested. Then on to the Sita Amman temple, where Tamil villagers go to pray.
Your vehicle to Ella is the local train. Guide will take you to the railway station in NanuOya. He will transfer you to the train and will drive to Ella railway station to join you.
Free afternoon in Ella. You can simply relax at your hotel or hike Little Adam’s Peak or visit 9 Arch bridge or explore the little touristic village.
First thing in the morning is planned a visit to the picturesque Ravana waterfall. After which you will be heading towards Udawalawa to enjoy a jeep safari. Udawalawa national park is one of the best places in the world to watch wild elephants. Besides elephants, you will also see deer, buffalos, mongooses, jackals, water monitor lizards, lots of crocodiles, sloth bears and occasionally a leopard.
Your host of the day is a local family, living in a rural village. Once you reach there, you can immerse yourselves in their day to day activities such as going to the farm, shopping for groceries from the local market and cooking dinner.
You will not have the comfort of a hotel, but what is better than sharing some unique moments with a local family? There is no better way to come to know a country than to spend quality time off the beaten track and getting to know the real people who live there.
After sharing a regular breakfast of locals with your hosts, your driver will take you to the Siharaja Rain Forest, a UNESCO listed world heritage site. The thick forest is home to extensive number of animals including leopards, Sambar, barking deer and wild boar (However, it is difficult to spot animals as the forest is so thick.). Most of the animals and flora found in this rain forest are native to Sri Lanka.

After visiting Sinharaja Forest, your driver will take you to Mirissa for the ocean side stay. We are sure you will fall in love with the beautiful golden beach.
Day 12 is the last day of your tour. Your driver will take you to their port to catch your return flight. On your way to the airport, you will be able to visit one last UNESCO listed world heritage site, the Galle Fort. It was built by the Portuguese and later rebuilt by the Dutch. It is a great place for a nice evening walk.
